Jasmine Sanders 2023: Puerto Rico
Jasmine Sanders was photographed by Ben Watts in Puerto Rico for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue along with fellow models Georgina Burke, Marquita Pring, Lorena Durán and Mady Dewey.
The German-born model and fashion influencer has been in the industry since the age of 13 and has worked with brands such as Victoria’s Secret, DKNY and Free People. Sanders, who is known as “Golden Barbie” to her loyal social media following, has also appeared in publications like Vogue, Glamour and Allure. She made her SI Swimsuit debut in the 2019 issue and was named Rookie of the Year. She landed the cover of the magazine the following year after posing for photographer Yu Tsai in Bali. This is Sanders’s fifth consecutive SI Swimsuit Issue appearance.
Rich in culture and history, Puerto Rico offers both thrilling adventure and ultimate relaxation. It’s a hot spot for authentic cuisine, exotic wildlife, breathtaking scenery and more. The archipelago located in the Caribbean Sea consists of one main island and four smaller islands, as well as numerous islets, all of which offer secluded sandy spots and immaculate views. It provided an unforgettable setting for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue.

Styling for Sanders’s photo shoot in Puerto Rico, a top surfing destination in the Caribbean, was inspired by 1970s surf culture—pops of color, laid-back “surf’s up” aesthetic and vintage prints. The SI Swimsuit team carefully chose pieces that could tell a story of a playful, chill and unfussy time.
